Parry Gripp "For Those About To Shop, We Salute You"

Soon after announcing his retirement from Nerf Herder at the end of 2003, front man Parry Gripp was forwarded an email from an advertising firm who was looking for a song to help promote some kind of frozen waffles that came with their own dipping sauce. “My interest was peaked by the project’s complete absurdity (and the mention of $20,000).” My first attempt was, Do You Like Waffles, which I wrote in about five minutes. Bingo, I felt I was at the top of my game and for the first time in a while, I was really enjoying writing music.” So much so, Parry has come up with For Those About To Shop, We Salute You, his first solo CD featuring over 50 little ditties, in various musical styles that will have you either rolling on the floor or give you a serious case of the munchies.
