Steve McDonald "This Is Bot A Rebellion"

Steven McDonald's new group, the SMG, is the first solo effort from this Redd Kross co-founder. "This Is Not A Rebellion" was primarily co-written with partner, brother and also co-founder of Redd Kross, Jeffrey McDonald. This five song EP has all the pop, rock and raw garage energy that mainstream music is desperately lacking. Since Redd Kross' last record, Steven has stayed busy producing various bands including the Donnas, Imperial Teen, and the Go-Go's and rocking his infamous bass lines with everyone from Dave Grohl and Tenacious D to Courtney Love and Carole King. He has also had success with a new project called Ze Malibu Kids with brother Jeff, wife Anna Waronker and niece Astrid on their debut album "Sound It Out."

Garnering critical acclaim from Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone, Steven most recently completed an internet exclusive project called Redd Blood Cells where he added his bass playing to the White Stripes record, "White Blood Cells"...with their permission of course.
